The Museum of Ixelles invites you to its latest exhibition From Dürer to Jan Fabre: Masterpieces which presents some of the most esteemed works of its collection. From Albrecht Dürer to Jan Fabre and everything impressive inbetween, you will find James Ensor, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Théo Van Rysselberghe, Constant Permeke, Gustave de Smet, Pierre Alechinsky, Auguste Rodin, Francis Picabia, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Ann Veronica Jansen.
Major trends in Belgian and European art of the 19th and 20th centuries are here – realism, impressionism, neo-impressionism, expressionism and surrealism, right up to the protean experiments of modern and contemporary art. Such exceptional works are testament to the originality of our national culture as well as the richness of the collections at the Museum of Ixelles.
Taking a refreshing tour around the setting of the Museum, the visitor is able to experience pleasure, wisdom and precision as the works are organized thematically across the centuries (still life, portraits, landscapes, artists workshops, animals…)
